What Is Combined Bleaching?

An undesirable appearance may occur as a result of discoloration of the teeth for various reasons. Combined bleaching can be defined as the combination of home and in office bleaching methods to remove this appearance on the surface of the teeth.

How Are Combined Bleaching Done?

  • Darkening of tooth color due to aging,
  • Past restoration and root canal treatments

How Long Does Combined Bleaching Treatment Take?

In office bleaching method takes less time than other teeth bleaching  methods. The processing time is an average of 1 hour. Supporting plaques can be used for an average of 10-15 days, for at least 4-6 hours during the day, or for 8-10 days, during the night's sleep.

What Are The Advantages Of Combined Bleaching?

By giving the teeth an aesthetic appearance, it is ensured that the patients catch their ideal smile. Ideally applied treatment does not have any permanent damage on the teeth.

What Are The Disadvantages Of Combined Bleaching?

Depending on the technique used in teeth bleaching, tooth and gum sensitivity may be experienced. The white appearance obtained as a result of bleaching processes is not permanent. This period varies between 6 months and 1 year, depending on the patient's use of colored liquids and smoking. It is possible to make the teeth bleaching process permanent by supporting it with 1 or 2 sessions in 4-6 months.

What Should Be Done After Combined Bleaching?

It is very important that you follow the instructions given by the physicians after combined bleaching. Apart from this, continuing the standard oral and dental care routine -brushing teeth at least 2 times a day, using mouthwashes, flossing regularly - will make the treatment more permanent.

What Should Not Be Done After Combined Bleaching?

Extreme cold or heat should be avoided for the first few days after bleaching. Coloring products such as cigarettes, tea, coffee, chocolate, red wine, cherry, caramel, tomato paste should not be used for at least 3-4 days following the end of the process.
